My hubby is a plaaaaaiiiiin eater so dinner's aren't very interesting so then I would pick sleep. But if it was my mother cooking? Then I'd definitely pick 3 nights of dinners. Hubby was working so I was on my own to fix dinner for my 4 y.o. and I. There was a lot of staring in the fridge/freezer hoping for a miracle. But alas, all that stared back was 18 bags of varying types of french fries. I actually don't remember the last time I grocery shopped. My son had a hard boiled egg, 1/2 a pita and some carrots. I had the omelet you didn't make ;-), some fried onions (nice and crispy!), and some freezer burned toast. Yummy...

And I also have a slew of recipes that I like the look of but never seem to get around to making! While it's wonderful that my son now recognizes that he needs to say "Excuse me" if others are already talking, the part he doesn't recognize is that he may actually have to wait before he can talk. Nope, uh-uh, nice try mum. My husband does the laundry...first thing Saturday morning he drives to the laundry mat, loads all five or six loads into the machines, then returns to the car to listen to his favorite radio station. Some thirty minutes later he returns inside loads up the laundry and brings it home to dry or on particularly busy weekends, he will wait another 20 to 30 minutes or so for it all to dry, drives home and we put it away--a weeks laundry done in less than two hours!--Think it is expensive? I don't think if I had such a profound spiritual experience as Liz did, I would be sharing it in such detail in a best seller, but that's just my personal view. I would like to attend, however, I usually have my children in bed by 7 so evening events are really not an option for me. If it was a special occasion, I would consider attending. I think you should keep it. The idea of a movie night is great, you could have a good disney movie on for the kids to watch in the craft room and parents could sit back and enjoy some dinner together, or let the kids run around and play while you sit and eat dinner with a spouse. Now you just need to get your liqour licence so mom and dad can enjoy a nice glass of wine while the little ones run and play :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
